The lip-synching is off here and there and they should have found someone who sounds more like Mel Gibson, but otherwise this 12.29 WGA strike video is pretty good. I laughed out loud three times. The Frank Morgan/Wizard of Oz finale is best, followed by the Star Trek: Wrath of Khan bit.

Man, that sucked. Thanks for wasting my time, Wells. I groaned out loud three times.

Agreed. This was quite lame.
In fact, all of the strike videos have been sub-par.
Doesn't really help their cause in my opinion.
The one and only reason I want the strike to end is so "Lost" can finish out their upcoming season... which, sadly, won't happen.

You know what would have been a funnier and much more memorable idea? Take clips of famous actors in famous scenes, and when they get to their classic line, have them stumble around ("Frankly, uh, look here Scarlett, uh, whatever.") Because they didn't have writers to write for them! Better writers than this piece of crap had...

Really, Mgmax? "Frankly, uh, look here Scarlett, uh, whatever" would have been funnier? If you call something "crap," then it's important to pitch something better and you just bombed.
This video was clearly slapped together quickly and designed to play "to the room" as it details how the negotiations and strike have played out. It clearly won't play in Peoria, hence a few of the "suck ass" comments, or whatever particular area you live in. My guess is Duarte.

Oh, it's funny if you're "in the room!" Kind of like Ed from Sales' Holiday Powerpoint presentation at Acme Towel & Linen Supply in Youngstown. It killed!
Gee, I guess now we know who wrote this one, some unemployed hack named Alan Spencer. Who like so many Hollywood lefties and champions of the working man, is a frightful snob.
I live in Chicago, by the way, so your social distinction about Duarte, wherever that is, is meaningless to me. But it gave me a chuckle, imagining you imagining yourself delivering the fatal flick of your rapier.

Actually, I know Chicago well and your analogy about something "killing" in the room is correct. (By the way, the star of my show spent many years learning his craft in Second City.) Your flaunting of the term "hack" and invoking claims of Hollywood faux liberalism underscores just how little people understand the key issues of this strike, as the opposition continues to the perpetuate a misconception that writers are spoiled, overpaid elitists. If we lose the fight over the potentials of "new media," then a form of legalized piracy will deny many their rightful share. May 2008 be a better year for all.
